I have a Panasonic blu ray player and also a Panasonic dvd recorder which I want to use as we have recently stopped Sky so lost the ability to record TV, however when I turn one unit on the remote also switches on the other one. any ideas how I can stop this happening?

I have managed to change one of the remotes so each only changes the machine it is supposed to
