Do you have one? What's it like?
I have a brown chest type one with a lift out tray. It's made of pretend leather..ok then, plastic...and the plastic is cracking and flaking off, it is years old though.
Just been looking at them on line, blooming expensive. Quite like those that come in layers and you can add to them.

Earrings go in a uranium ware vase on the top shelf in the bedroom to grab as I rush out of the door in the morning and my rings stay on my finger.
I should really ask Santa for a jewellery box this Christmas to get more organised ;o)

I have two large(ish) wooden ones I bought from the Q.V.C shopping channel years ago. One opens up like a cupboard with hooks on the inside of the doors for hanging necklaces and lots of drawers inside for anything else. The other is a box with a large mirror inside the lid, and a tray and two drawers which pull out.
I don't know if they still sell jewellery boxes on Q.V.C., if he surprised if they didn't if you need a replacement take a look at their website to see if they still have them. Jewellery should be kept in boxes and not allowed to rub together as it can damage it.

My jewellery box is full of things I never, or rarely, wear actually, apart from stud earrings, the dangly ones are in a small set of lacquered drawers. But I'd never part with any of it. I too have a tree thing (it's actually a mannequin in a corset) for short necklaces, and strip of hooks screwed to the side of the wardrobe for longer ones. My 'best bits' are kept in their individual boxes and rarely see the light of day these days.
Maybe it would be a good time for a sort out...
I'd quite like an interesting box rather than a specific jewellery box I think.
Thanks for your answers, food for thought.
