you arent working,
sick or disabled
friendship
something to pass the time of day
I think if I was very healthy I would be doing other things(mind you I only learned how to use a computer about 6 years ago)
I loved going for long walks, meeting friends, travelling, going home, even doing jigsaws but my life is so different now and I just make the best of a good thing

I've made some very good friends who probably know more about me than my real life friends or family members.

Combination of all of those. First tripped over A.B. looking for crossword answers and it snowballed. I might not always join in but I read posts which interest me, and which make me laugh. The A.B. members I've met have been charming, lovely people and although we were technically strangers, it seemed as though we were just continuing a conversation we had started earlier. I hope to meet a few more A.B.'ers in the future and be able to continue conversations with the folks I've already met.
Came here for crossword solitions, originally. (Google sometimes brings up results that are mere minutes old).
I'm still here because I like to make myself useful but my chronic fatigue stops me from doing that in the real world. No employer pays money for simply thinking about stuff and writing about it.
I don't get to have much fun or make friends as that requires energy too. I can't strike up a conversation with complete strangers without some pretext, like work, the weather, buying things etc. On the 'net you can start a topic and wait for people who are interested to respond. You can have a conversation without struggling to pick out speech from the background music.

i joined because having to give up work through back trouble i missed talking to people ,when oh worked shifts i was lonely .i've had a few giggles on ab, lots of support when my daughter had cancer.even if i dont join in debates i enjoy reading them .i'm still learning about computers (about 2 years )oh said a trained monkey could learn quicker than me lol.and even though i haven't met anyone i still feel i have a few friends on here .x
I had a family issue and actually wrote part of the question into Google and it came up with Answer Bank. It was useful to get some anonymous replies with different opinions. I come on occasionally when I'm bored at work -its my shop so only wasting my time not a bosses, and also on an evening when 'the boys' want to watch motor sport of something. And of course when I'm too lazy to Google an answer and need one quickly. It did surprise me however how much of a social network it is .
I am not in the best of health,
I am registered disabled, I work, but only 25 hours a week,
I came on here looking help with a crossword nearly two years ago, and have been here ever since.
Sometimes I confess, I am a lurker, Just flicking through, reading, and keeping up with what is going on,
Other times, I join in.
It feels like a big family here and I love it, when Mr. S is on nights I love the company, Its also nice having a bit of company when I am up early hours, usually in pain, whether I am just lurking , or chatting, I love it. X
