Kitten Eating Lots ...
8 Answers
Further to my previous post, when I read it back it sounded like I was giving kitty loads of food, I am going to cut down the portion size a bit as Sqad has worried me, although it is more like half a pouch at a time if that. Can anyone else reassure me or am I overfeeding? Please see link on my last post, tia .

(i.e. if I see that their bowls are empty I immediately open another can for them. They've also got a supply of biscuits permanently available). That doesn't stop them all following me into the kitchen and successfully begging small additional amounts of additional food from me!
Tablo (the little girly cat) is still tiny for her age. Moonbeam is perhaps a more 'normal' size, with Biscuit being a little bigger. Chequers is massive but that's only because he's an incredibly big cat anyway. (His overall length and his skull dimensions are far bigger than those of his siblings). However none of them are the slightest bit 'fat'.
Stop worrying. Kittens need lots of food, both to grow and to provide them with the energy to rip your curtains to shreds ;-)

See if you can find an answer to your problem here. I adopted George when he was 13++ and when he died I got the moronic moggies and they were 18 months old. I have never cared for a kitten - this was intentional as they are like mini demons at that age. Cute, admittedly, but pure evil too. :-D

On the island of Menorca, there is a particular problem with cats in that holiday makers, see the kittens of the feral cats and feed them. This is fine until the end of the season when the kittens are left to the Islanders to support ......some do and some don't.
We have at the moment seven feral kittens who are fed on the road at the bottom of some steps. They are about 6 months old now, healthy, fit with lovely coats and are more appreciative than our own two.
The cats are fed every evening and alternate mornings and biscuits left in a feeding device. These cats are healthy on their diet.
We also attend a cat sanctuary of about 75 cats, on a rota system, a mixture of adults and kittens.
I am not a vet or an expert on cats, but my opinion remains that you are overfeeding your kittens.

Sqad is right that cats can be pretty fat these days. Frankie is on steroids and gets his weight monitored. He is 5.5 kg.
Sqads kittens may be catching some snacks too - rodents etc.
My two get Felix or Whiskas sachets and there is usually a bowl of dried food available too. They never go out but keep themselves busy fighting, racing around the house an snoozing.
I am sure that tour New baby will be fine.
