I live in a very nice town in West London, expensive houses, yummy mummies.... I've lived here all my life and am not one of the 'rich' newbies that have moved into the area. Our High Road has a new shop opening this week, a Poundland! I for one cannot wait, but blimey the response from residents on our local website is shocking... They are up in arms! Talking of house prices dropping, all sorts of 'unsuitable people' walking around, an eyesore on the High Road...
Do you think half these people have any idea about the real world?
My experience of poundland is they only sell total rubbish, some branded stuff that is out of date or faulty or substandard. We bought some comfort condtioner, it was like water, certainly not the quality you buy in a normal store. I bought some Duracell batteries, they went flat within a very short time.
Snobs - people who shop at Lidl/Aldi and take their M&S/Waitrose carrier bags with them so that their neighbours think they've shopped at those overpriced shops
