I look forward to doing the DT GK crossword every Saturday and it has now (sadly or otherwise) become part of my weekend ritual.

But have any of us who contribute to this website ever won, or know anyone who has? Just curious!

what prizes are on offer
yes my sister-in-law about three months ago

Have won runners up prize twice but a couple of years since the last one. Great feeling though!

I live in hope!!!
No, but I have won Where in the World in the travel section twice so theres always hope???
No. But it would be very interesting to know how many entries they get.

I've been doing the DTGK x-word for about a year now and I had a runner up prize in August 05 so don't give up! It's a great feeling when you win - it was a buzz to see my name printed in The Telegraph to be honest!

And it's definitely not sad - the familiar names on this site are testament to that.

Yes, I've won Saturday Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph once each , Sunday Times twice Saturday,Times Jumbo And Jumbo 2, Independant twice and various others but all over 21 years. BOBOBALDE congratulations on your teams win today. About the prizes, it doesn't matter, it's just about winning, it really is worth the wait.
I do the saturday DT GK & cryptic, Monday's Herculis GK plus 21 other prize crosswords every week and have only won the Express Crusader and 2 smaller prizes with my local paper.I believe that the Sunday Express 1,000 pound GK Crossword get 39,000 entries per week.If you think your sad only doing the Saturday DT GK, what does that make me?

The trouble is exchanging answers here increases the number of correct entries and reduces the chances of winning.....

Some years back the Guardian used to publish the number of entries received to its Saturday cryptic prize crossword - IIRC it was several thousand.

Hope for us all then? I love doing the GKs but have not bothered to waste the stamp money recently.

I'm a researcher anyway and often work for a few hours over the weekend (often through overseas hours) so that's why I pop in here. I love passing on things, just wish some people would look a bit harder for the obvious, but no critisism intended,

Yes I won the dt Gk prize of 200 plus the whittakers last autumn.I have also won runners up prizes in the Sunday Express Skeleton 7 times never seem to hit the jackpot there. As others have said the prizes are not great but it is the thrill of winning and seeing your name in print that counts
Yes, I have won - three times, (two runner up and one main prize) The first time I won there was a query on Answerbank about the winners as they all had such made-up sounding names and addresses! Thanks a lot!

I have won the DT Herculis.

I have complained that the sun tel has cancelled the Xword prizesand also prints them on the back of the Griddler.

Has anyone else protested?

Have been lucky enough to win runner-up quiz books twice this year and live in hopes for the reference book which I'd love! Have also written protest to editor re. loss of Sun. Tel. prize Xword. Shame on them!!

Tackling the weekend Tel. Xwords has been a family tradition for decades!

Hi there,

I received a 200 cheque and a book last Tuesday for the 21st October competition. I have been doing four crosswords and two or three travel questions nearly every week for several years. It was worth the wait.

Keep trying.

Alan

I won the Where Was I? comp in The Sunday Times last year , a weeks holiday. Still hoping for the DTGK!

we know the feeling....wastes 2 hours every Sunday morning...we leave it till then, I think you may have more chance to win the lottery.
