Thed usual discussion when someone brings up the subject of women in comfortable shoes, and men who bake a light sponge.
Just to get the main aspects out of the way - starting with the OP, which does seem to have got lost in the middle of all this -
'Are Lesbians more acceptable than Gay men?
Well, apart from the somewhat incendiary use of the term 'acceptable' - I think society as a rule accepts gay women over gay men because - as has been opined, they find the notion of men having sexual contact as reugnant, but, in the case of a large number of heterosexual men (although I am absolutly not one who does) lesbain sex is seen as erotic.
Some men on here have nailed their colours firnly to the mast - embracing hoary old stereotypes in the process - lesbians do not fall into 'husband / wife' roles, that's a stereotype perpetuated by straight people who wouldn't know a lesbian if they fell over one!
Others are keen to register their disgust at certain (emphasis on certain - it's not compulsory!) activities undertaken by gay men.
And one discussion has compared homosexual offspring with handicapped offspring - a weird and rather sinister construct I have to say.
Having three daughters, all of whom are heterosexual, I can confirm that I would havehad no problem had any or all of them grown up to be lesbians. They are my children, and I love them whomever they are, and whatever they do - that is part of being a father, i find it inconceivable that any parent can attach conditions to their love - it goes against the pure instinct of parenthood.
I am aware of the issues which being gay causes, and I am delighted with the massive progress in tolerance made in my lifetime, and hope that it continues to grow with each generation.
In conclusion, i remain amused by the number of fat sweaty smelly boorish men who will always make loud remarks about 'not turning your back', or 'kick your change to the wall' and so on ad nauseum, when to any homosexual with the natural inbuilt dignity that goes with that orientation, their fat sweaty boorish smelly bodies are as safe from any homosexual contact as they are from heterosexual contact!!!
So are Lesbians more accceptable than Gay Men?
To society at large - yes. To me personally - no.
