Well according to John Cleese it isn't, he was quoted as saying:

/// "I had a Californian friend come over two months ago, walk down the King’s Road and say, “Where are all the English people?” ///

/// "I mean, I love having different cultures around. But when the parent culture kind of dissipates, you’re left thinking, “Well, what’s going on?”

Diverse: Areas of London like Whitechapel, pictured below, are extremely multicultural:

..or perhaps they just don't look any different from other people, bobbi, so you wouldn't notice them - they don't wear the full cover-ups, just normal modest clothing.
this is true...I can't remember seeing any Burkha clad ladies for example
sp, i wouldn't say i was elderly, but have grown up here, as have family, friends, and the changes we have seen over that time have been huge.
My mothers generation would be the one you are referring to, and they are dying off. Perhaps in another 50 years London, and the rest of Britain will be truly mixed and multicultural, but don't count on it being what some want. There are plenty of areas in London you wouldn't go into, not just at night, and no one is getting a handle on the ever increasing youth killings, black on black crimes, and the drug problems that come with gang culture. Politicians have their heads in the sand, the recent riots should have been the wake up call, but like everything else, its just an inconvenience to them.

/// They eat kebabs, jerk chicken, feta cheese, calzone, beef madras and listen to Wiley, Dizzee, Roll Deep, N-Dubz etc.///

Oh, so it is only acceptable if our youth convert to other's culture, isn't it now time that 'those others', learnt to convert to British culture?

Perhaps Dr Starkey had a point when he said that "whites have become black"?
Why Muslims ? How come no one ever discusses Hindu and Sikhs on AB ?
MrMister

Oh, they do. There's a certain poster (literally cannot remember his name at the moment) who regularly posts about how he hates going into Birmingham because of all the Indians ("I hate the fact that they walk around talking Hindu...I feel like a foreigner in my own country etc etc").

At the moment it's Muslims, but years ago it was Jews.

Certain posters will put up multiple (snide) questions about blacks - so it's all quite democratic really...free for all.

Oh, and Sikhs get it in the neck because they don't have to wear crash helmets and don't take off their turbans in church (I know, I know - we have some weirdos here!!!)
SP, people are entitled to their opinions, however skewed some may think it.
Says who its not, it surely is the Englishish city in fact this is always known to be as the London school of English and that also globally, hoping now you wont think the same anymore.
