Anyone else think that last nights voting was a complete shambles and so cruel to the contestants.

It was on in the background while I was baking but I did not hear one single voice that made me look up to see who was singing. I just cannot stomach all that screaming from the audience and the 'looks' between the judges is ridiculous.

My teenagers are off out with their mates.

'mainly middle -aged people' what makes you say that? Do middle-aged people not have social lives then? lol! 'Teenagers' can be any age from 13-19 and I certainly would not want my 13 year old 'out with his mates' on a Saturday night. I think Kids probably love it and it probably attracts the same sort of person who would like big brother,strictly and all those other 'reality' shows.

I knew I would get slated for my reply and I know the contestants are on there to try and get noticed but there is no one that I can say will actually make it and yes the way the judges are carrying on it is like a pantomime and don't say don't watch it as I am interested in to see who does actually make it.. Can't see any of the groups getting anywhere .

My teenagers are 18 and 16. They have better things to do with their time. It's me that watches it, not them...

They are out living their life (but have to phone me)

yes I can see it wouldn't appeal to older teenagers. My mother (82) loves it, I don't mind it when it gets to the final 12 but usually have it on as 'background' rather than watching it intensely.

XF is losing viewers by the millions, with a bit of luck it'll be axed soon (and I used to be a big fan!)

I don't watch it intensely. It's background stuff for me. I'm a casualty fan :-)

Not sure how you come to that conclusion.
In my experience, it's mostly 18-35 year olds and almost exclusively female.

I would have said mostly 13-30 year olds watch it mostly.

I must be the only person in the country who doesn't watch the x factor, or any of those type of programmes.

trt I've proved it myself as we record all programs to skip through the boring bits. I noticed they used the same camera shot of someone applauding a whistling on 2 different episodes and the same screaming/ cheering. Then someone on the TV was commenting how could the singers concentrate with all that noise and the reply was that most of the screaming/cheering was added afterwards in the Edit.

Sat there cringing watching x factor last night.
Louie should be chucked off , and not return. I found this new seating set up very cruel, and so devestating for the contestants to be chucked off when they think they are sitting there safely. So ---shambles it certainly was.

staged, cruel, definatly.
I stopped watching x factor a couple of years ago as I couldn't watch how false and staged it was.
I watched it this Saturday for the first time since because I was at someone elses house. I felt disgusted by the manipulation they did to these young people. never again
