If it has vanished then I would think that it has been removed by Editorial staff. Perhaps it was deemed by an Editor or Moderator to be too controversial for the columns of AB.

You did mention boiling alive. That was a punishment introduced under Henry VIII specifically for poisoners. It proved so sickening, even for Tudor stomachs, that only three people were executed in this manner before the Act was repealed.
