I see it as being sensible, down to earth and taking a no nonsens approach, saying it as it is, if you like. A lot of people can't handle that kind of response and perhaps see it as negative.
I think there are a few people on AB who are pragmatic and I always enjoy their posts.

Because these days its not PC to call a spade a spade and one is judged on how one circumnavigates the cold hard facts by wrapping them up in fluffy bunny concepts. IF you dare to suggest someone gets of their backsides and get a job you are a bigoted right wing loonie, dare to suggest immigration should be capped and only people allowed into the UK who can contribute valuable skills and you are a blatant racist. We are expected to 'understand' people rather than give them advice or a few home truths, and in return anyone getting criticized becomes a 'victim'. Everyone is becoming a victim -someone pinches your bottom in 1974 and all of a sudden you are a victim of sexual abuse and need counseling (and compensation for a ruined life) . That's why calling a spade a spade, trying to look logically at things and giving 'tough love' is now classed as being negative.
