Your MP. He/she will forward it to the appropriate body and they will jump through hoops. The last thing any state body wants is an MP on their backs.

Depends where they work. If it's about staff in your local hospital, I would suggest you start with the PALs team there.

doesnt matter.

Hospital, start off with PALS - the patient liaison service and or send a copy to the Chief Exec. You can even do it with a telephone call, which they are obliged to take seriously

bit early for an MP I think - try the front door first

GP - write to one of the principals,

and then take it further

Other things - services - if it is the path lab or X ray - then the Hospital CEO again.
Things like Ambulance have their own complaints systems.

Doctors or nurses I am pretty sure the GMC will investigate any complaint without you going through the hospital system, and it wont cost you a penny ! same I think for the nurses' GMC whose formal name is NMC - ( nurses' and midwives council )

If it's Hospital Staff, most Hospital Web Sites have a 'Contact Us' or a 'Complaints & Congrats' address on them. Tend to move quite quickly if it's a complaint I've found.

lol. Phleb - most NHS organisations have their own complaints departments. Sometimes it's best to raise the problem directly with the staff that it pertains to. Hosptials will have their own complaints services - if ti's hospital look on their website
