...dog lover by any means....I would never want to own one....look after one or be tied by the responsibility.....

But a friend is visiting and I am dog sitting this evening while she gallivants ...I have lit the fire and the doggie is lying close by fast asleep.....I presume they don't burst into flames do they?...

And it has made the sitting room feel really homely and cosy...the fire and the snoring dog....

So what makes your home homely?....xx

I know that one must never trust a smiling cat but smiling dogs are cute!
a dog everytime Gness - I was getting one from a lady in the supermarket who said her son had to get rid of his - but within 2 days he was gone.


I miss Mr Harv so much and I am determined to get another one (dog) even to communicate, walk, plauy interplay - talk all kinds of everything you don't do with a human. Can't wait to get my moggy

Holly's gone in the garden...reluctantly....but I'm off to bed and she can snuggle down in hers when she comes in.....and if she wees she wees....

Hi, Conne....I've said on here before....I don't want anyone or anything I have to look after again.....but the occasional visitor....dog or bunch of flowers I'm happy with....but enjoy your dog when you get the one for you.....x
Gness, love crime fiction, Jane Austen and my favourite Dickens is Hard Times. Enjoy Anne McCaffrey and Helen Stewart. Love historical novels (not Henry V111) prefer mediaeval and earlier. Have you read Cora Harrison's work?
The book that haunts me is The Skallagrigg by William Horwood.
Have a fabulous Oxfam shop for paperbacks, my downfall.
Support my local Library and have a Kindle.
Difficult to find time for my cross stitch and cooking.
Given up on dusting and hoovering.

What a great thread! Lost my dog last year after 50 odd years of Having them (and then only because I dogsat one and got hOoked,beware gness!) And do miss her lying gently snoring and farting, as to cosy homes Books ,family photos, nice Pictures do it for me, and a bit of untiDiness e.g.knitting or Books lying around, Making the room look lived in.
