It's not their third choice kit, apparently. It's a 'limited edition' kit: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2908456/West-Ham-wear-limited-edition-FA-Cup-kit-against-Everton-time-play-despite-shirt-costing-50.html

I was wondering the same!
commercial reasons?
The others are in the wash
Because the wussies feel cold?
How is a 3rd choice kit warmer than the normal home kit?

I think they are putting the 3rd kit in the shop window in the hope fans think it is a must to own one.
As Talbot says, all teams generally have to wear a certain kit a certain amount of times per season as part of their contract with the kit supplier.
A James Watt note for that - who do they think they are kidding....
The Club ripping off the fans again - in the Program tonight they said they've sold 2000 shirts out of the 4000 in stock, so it hasn't been a success!
Great game but what I did not understand the ref told of the Everton keeper
when the West Ham keeper had been doing all the sledging, during the pen shoot out?
Don't understand you Magic.
Sorry mastercraft it did not come out to clear, during the pen shoot out the West Ham keeper continually had a go at the Everton players before they took the pen, the next thing I see the ref is having a go at the Everton keeper who to me had not done anything wrong, just a bit of a rant mastercraft.
I know what you mean magicmick, something not quite right there
To show that one dors not need to wear the same clothes to work everyb day? Work? Er, party clothes.
Still don't understand. Glad the Irons won!
Sorry about that mastercraft, I don't think I can explain it any simpler. PankySmooch seems to understand, I suppose now their £50 special edition FA cup strip will get another airing.
To MM - I think the ref was having a pop because he came off his line to do his "unsettling" and was quietly sent back with a yellow card reminder.
Adrian however was dancing along his line quite within the rules (and I'm not a fan of either team but what a great cup tie it was)
mxyzptlk, Adrian started the "unsettling", having words with Naismith as he placed the ball for his penalty. Yes, it was a great cup tie.
Even though West Ham are at home, as it is a cup replay, and the first match was at Everton, are they considered the "home" team.
Everton were the home team in the first game, West Ham United in the replay.
