Having solved the problem of subtitles on my Sony Bravia tv set, something else has arisen. I cannot get text. I hit the button (15 in the manual) with the green stripes but nothing happens. Is there something else I should be doing?

Are you tuned in to a BBC channel?

If you have subtitles on you cannot get text. You need to switch the subtitles off.

thank you, blackadder and jomlett. things are a bit better. but I hv 2 say that I have three other tv sets around the house and on none of them do I hv 2 switch off subtitles to get text. I think this is the last sony product I am going 2 buy.
