I recently read about an investigation into the nutritious values of a typical burger from fast food retailers. Apparently, you'd get more nutrition from eating a tin of dog food!!!! added at the end of the article, it read that eating the latter, you are also LESS likely to get food poisoning!!!!!
funny eh?

nuh nite you! x
Hi WiccanKitten, Not a surprising result from the article really. If dog food was not nutritious there would no point in giving it to them. Also, most food poison comes from 'cross contamination' and food handling so I would consider the burger the more hazardous !! Does it put me off ?? No more than any take away burger, ugh.
It's more the flavour that puts me off, processed meat on a sesame seed lump of cotton wool.
Lets face it though I would think a burger is more tasty than a tin of dog food - therfor I will stick to my burger thanks lol
Although I must admit I dont eat at fast food places very often because I know its a waste of time.
Can't remember where I read this, but apparently the reason they add gherkins is because the sugar content is so high otherwise that fast food burgers would have to be advertised as a dessert.

I'm not surprised at all. When you consider that most dogs thrive on dog food alone it's bound to be packed full of goodness. It's only horse meat at the end of the day. It's about the equivalent of buying a tin of chilli con carne for yourself. A meaty meal in a tin.

I haven't eaten fast food for 4 years now. I decided to boycott Maccie D's ages ago and now can't bring myself to eat Burger King or KFC or the like.

With regard to food poisoning, the poison I'm watching out for now is PET poisoning (from drinking out of plastic bottles). What are they going to come up with next, eh? Is nothing safe these days?

i agree completely. i abstain from fast food, with the exception of the thick shakes, which have in the past been reported to contain all sorts of oddities - tut tut!
