Is it right that rapists and paedaphiles are beaten and attacked in prison?

Would be be considered wrong of me to applaud those convicts such as armed robbers etc who beat the living daylights out of rapists and paedaphiles?

Speaking as someone who was raped multiple times aged 14, personally I would not want to attack rapists or condone them being attacked as it's merely bringing us down to their level of depravity.

In my opinion, paedophiles are mentally ill. Despite their crimes, they clearly do not have the capacity to understand right from wrong, or to control their urges. I don't think anyone should be systematically beaten for that.

I do not believe that the justice system does enough to protect victims of crime, and does not do enough to ensure that crimes of a sexual nature are adequately punished.

I hope the reporting of sexual crimes has improved since 9 years ago. I phoned the police to report the first attack and I was asked if I was "sure" that I was telling the truth.

Firstly,I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you malaise. i do hope you are ok now and you recieved all the help you needed at that awful time in your life.x

I think paedophilles understand perfectly well that what they are doing is wrong or else why would they go to such lengths to cover up what they have done? True mental illness in not like that. They threaten children that they will kill their parents if they tell, or tell them they will die, etc.. all sorts to cover their tracks so i can't agree with that.We all have choices and we alone are in control of what we chose to do, be it good or evil. I couldn't agree more about the lack of victim support though. It's no wonder people do want to take their own revenge when the courts don't give adequate punishment.

My Grandad was a child abuser and believe me he knew very well what he was doing and no way was he mentally ill. I was also a victim from his dirty filty ways and I have had to live with the memories and also the people not believing me for many years. People asking how on earth he could have got away with it when he was hardly left alone with me. Well his brain was that twisted that he would invent things going missing and the offer to 'help' me find them, that was when my abuse happened, people just in the next room whilst he was doing what he wanted to a little girl.

He is dead now and never really suffered in his life for what he did so I don't believe in Karma. So I would not have minded if someone had given him the hiding of his life.Perhaps then he would know the feeling of wetting himself in fear of what was about to happen to him, as I once did on a weekly basis.

They all deserve a daily beating in my opinion and I hope they get it. But I also hope they never know when they are going to get it.

I have just read the answers from Willspal and Malaise and am stunned and saddened by what you have both been through.We are all commenting on the subject but we dont really have a clue - unlike you two.And the fact that you have both come through it make me feel very humble about the daft trivial problems that I have posted on here in the past.

malaise,wilspal, Im so sorry for your experiences it must have been torture for you both in different ways. malaise a friend of mine was abused by her dad from the age of 7 and forced to do things unimaginable as you may understand and you too willspal. 40+ years later my friend still has flasbacks+suffers nighmares of torment. Whilst she has had several nervous breakdowns over the years her dad has never had a days illness mentally.You seem to be a very forgiving lady malaise and I bow to you but I must agree with willpall and jules on this one. These sicko's know precisly what they want and how to get it. Take care.
