In the late Seventies, I was a great fan of a band called Hungry Horse. Saw them several times at the old Marquee Club, but just when they seemed to be on the verge of greatness, the Punk explosion happened & they seemed to disappear without trace. Does anyone know what happened to these guys? Can't find any mention of them anywhere on the Internet, anyone here help please?
I HAVE A FRIEND WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE FORMED THE BAND HUNGRY HORSE IN THE 70's. HE WAS THE LEAD GUITARIST, AND AS YOU SAY, THEY REGULARLY PLAYED THE MARQUEE CLUB.. HE TELLS ME THAT THEY WERE JUST ABOUT TO SIGN A RECORDING DEAL WITH VIRGIN, WHEN BRANSON'S HEAD WAS TURNED BY PUNK ROCK, AND THEY WENT INTO OBSCURITY... IF YOU CAN NAME THAT GUITARIST, I AM PREPARED TO DISCUSS THE MATTER FURTHER
your right terry brown was the guitarist gus yeadon vocals keybourd ex love affair gus (sadly died) ...steve bone bass ...alan rogers drums..we all went on tour with barry ryan with lee jackson (nice) on bass steve bone went on gitar after that we all went back to session work and other bands... we did do a demo albm for virgin but richard branson said he loved the band but he had just signed the pistols...so he was going to go with that...
Hi Alan, Thank you for replying-are you still playing in a band? I dont suppose you know what came of Terry Brown do you?, he is my uncle and i have not seen him for about 25 years. Any info would be great thanks.
Actually thinking about it, i do have, somewhere, the bands stickers with the drawing of the horse(with big teeth i seem to recall) and an album with your pictures(long hair, beards) and a write up about each of you.
Hello Nikki and Alan, So,you've both managed to lose track of Terry. I've known him for 10 years now, and know the story well. He is very keen to get in touch, but wonders how this will be possible as he does not use a computer. He has played me the tape of the proposed Virgin album which never happened, and it sounds good, what a shame it wasn't made 2 years earlier. Who knows what might have been? Sadly we'll never know now
Oh wow I would love to get in touch with Terry, its been so long, here is my mobile 07950 946899 he can always text or call and here is my home phone 020 8462 4138, if you could pass these on please Spider i would be very grateful, Thanks, Nicky.
