Windows 8 ?uninstall
I seem to have 'accidentally' agreed to windows 8 upgrade being installed on my computer, and now I can't seem to find anything and it keeps taking me to a different start page.
any ideas how I can revert this?
I have tried the 'restore' function, to go back to a previous date, which also does not seem to work (which I can't work out).
any help anyone??
many thanks

What version of Windows did you upgrade from? I have had a hunt round the web and it seems there is no easy way to revert to an earlier version of Windows once you have upgraded to W8. However your computer may have a "restore to factory settings" option so you MAY be able to revert to the status the PC was when you bought it (unless the W8 upgrade has removed it)....

However your computer may have a "restore to factory settings" option so you MAY be able to revert to the status the PC was when you bought it (unless the W8 upgrade has removed it).
However as a matter of urgency I would first backup ALL your personal files on to an external hard drive, memory stick, CD/DVD, or to the cloud.
Because if you are going to start changing Windows versions you may lose everything.
The other simpler option is to stick with Windows 8 and install a small program that makes W8 look and work like W7.
One free program that does this is called Classic Shell and you can download it here

p.s. I think Windows 8 is awful and I am not surprised you are having trouble finding your way around it. Hopefully the next release of Windows will sort out some of these problems.

I have classic shell on my computer, but every time I click on google chrome to get my e-mail, it takes me to the windows 8.1 (??) start page and I can't access my documents etc from there.
How can I make it stay on the classic shell page??
(sorry I'm very computer illiterate....!)
