Insurance Query
5 Answers
Hi I've just changed my car for one in the same insurance group, group 25 according to Parkers website. It's a year younger though and the Insurance company tells me it's a higher premium and charging me an extra £63 for the remaining 7 months (plus £25 admin fee). I thought cars in the same group cost the same to insure or does year and/or other factors have an effect?
Thanks

Over time insurers build up an experience of the various models. So two cars in the same group can end up incurring different claims experience and, therefore, resulting in different premiums (all other things being equal). Group ratings are purely advisory in any case.
