Given that the Z clue (5,8) can only go in one place, it means that the L clue (4,6) cannot be fitted in the grid as the 8th letter is N but should be D and the same goes for the other 10-letter light?

The 10-letter clues that fit the 10-letter spaces are "I" & "P".

You have to fit "L" in somewhere else.

NB There are 8 6-letter spaces but only 7 6-letter clues. Similarly only 3 4-letter clues but 4 4-letter spaces.

The online version was screwed up - it has been replaced with a message and a link to the PDF version which you can print or as in my case 'cos my printer aint working draw a rough grid on a piece of paper. The Y & Z clues are in the PDF.

I like dong Crosswords and often helping my mum with the Guardian on a Saturday but I think I'll give this one a miss- I hate all these fiddly ones.

The I and P clues are ten letters so the L is a four and a six.
