Fussy Eaters
80 Answers
I've met a few fussy eaters in my life, but none as bad as my girlfriend. I want to make her something special, but she REALLY narowed it down for me when she gave me a list of 15 INGREDIENTS. She's won't eat anything fishy, hates salad, doesn't like dip and absolutely hates sauces, for example Pizza or a Hunters chicken. I want to make her something nice and flavoursome, but it's going to end up making somethimg plain and dry. Any good ideas as to what I could make that woukd wow her? I'm pretty good at cooking so complexity isn'tan issue.

My OH used to have his steaks cooked well until I encouraged him to try them medium rare. Does that mean I set out to change him? Or just making a suggestion that he might like it cooked slightly differently. Which he does...

Your question is what you can make her to 'wow' her -not change her eating habits - steak and chips followed by a really sweet dessert she really loves. You should not try and change anyone's eating habits -she's got this far in life eating what she wants, she's hardly a child, -why should she change for you -is it a control thing?
Retrochic, I'm 16, it's hardly a control thing. I Just want to make her something nice and get her to have something different for a change, I'm kinda shocked that some people are makimg it out to be that I'm a bad person over someone else's eating habbits. I came for a few ideas and some people have completely taken this the wrong way. I'm truly greatful for the idea's people have given though
Themacdonaldman - you being 16 to me it makes no difference. You should not try and make anyone eat something they don't want to -if you want to impress her make a really nice meal using the stuff she will eat rather than trying to make her eat something she doesn't want to try. Think of something you really really don't like eating and try and imagine what it would be like if someone tried to make you eat it.
Ok well I know the feeling you are having... We have a 42 year old daughter and a 15 year old granddaughter..both with eating problems.... I tried everything when my daughter was young and never won the battle. the doctor and dietician both said what she eat was enough to keep her going and if she was hungry she would eat.! So thats how it has always been.... she only ate baked beans,,,ham .....bread and butter and bacon.... But she will eat a mcdonalds? Yuck...... Still the same but now eats chicken...no veg ... no fruit..no meat... spag bol and lasagne .... But has a very sweet tooth.
Granddaughter ( not the daughter of that one I must add)..is the same... she loves sausage rolls and bacon but will not eat meat as such... and junk food.! THe arguments she has with her mum over it is terrible..Ok what is the list she has given you.?

Many wouldn't believe this but my cousin lives on crisps and only crisps. His wife of about 30 years has never cooked him a meal. The only time he's eaten anything else is when he's been for work dos with her managers and thats simply because he didn't want to embarrass her.
Oddly enough he still appears to be fit and healthy.
