Another forum I subscribe to allows me to edit my contribution for about five minutes after posting.

Would it be possible to introduce that here - it's muck better than having to post a further entry to correct typos.

Typo's can be fun. I made a joke of sp1814's recent typo.
Someone else didn't notice sp1814's typo and thought they were giving me a grammar lesson on my jokey post.
When I pointed this out to him he pretended he knew but he was fibbing

But hey.....how we laughed!

Boo, no different to a typo or a grammatical error imo.
Does it rea;lly matter, in the great scheme of things, that one makes a typo of grammatical mistake? It annoys me when a poster feels the need to correct a word that is obvious what it is, but just spelled rong?
"Wrong" see what I mean?

Mamiya: Just to clarify, I meant inferior in features, not users (this one's the winner there, but don't tell the others)
sometimes because I am busty I make silly mistakes.
I go on another forum where we can edit at any time. All edits done more than 2 minutes after posting are recorded at the bottom of the answer. Any done within a few seconds are not recorded.
Its a very well behaved forum,so maybe that's why the edit function is allowed.
^ He is.
Move Pasta :-)
Canary - understood.
Checking as you type, doesn't work for me. We all have blind spots of proof readers wouldn't be hired. The regular typo gets through and looking as if one is a moron forevermore is not something one wishes. It's a further stress one doesn't need in one's life. Not sure why folk insist this function should be short term though. It's quite possible not to re-read the thread again for quite some time so it makes no sense to take such a reasonable request away after a while. The fear of some substantially altering their posts and invalidating their responses is clearly invalid. It could be treated as any other abuse of the system, as it is at other sites. The changes would still be in the log.

A Classic from last week (NOT mine by the way)

///Bought OH a ******** and a ******** yesterday, I don't half soil her///

A short term edit would have ruined it!
I think we should have a 'Levitybank' where any post even approaching being serious is immediately removed.....
Yes not being able to correct the actual word is irritating Retrochic. It doesn't half stick out doesn't it. No wonder folk feel the need to show yet another reason to have an edit facility.
