Plane

I doubt it anyone will really know this but im going on holiday to paphos flying from luton on the 9th july for 14 nights with First Choice. Now we are just wondering what plane we could go on as we have heard rumours about going on a helios plane and we dont want to go on one of those as last year while we were in paphos we heard the 2 helios planes had crashed during our 2 week holiday. So if anyone knows how to find out what plane we could be going on it would be deeply appicated!!
Thanks xx

Although last year's crash of flight 522 attracted a great deal of attention from the media, they've still got a good safety record. (Even if you fly with an airline with a poor safety reputation, you're still thousands of times more likely to die on the way to the airport than in a plane crash).
First Choice usually use chartered aircraft for their holidays. It's still possible , however, that they might also make use of the Helios scheduled flights from Luton to Paphos. If your outward flight is numbered ZU411 at 0955 (with a return, a fortnight later, on ZU410 at 1745) then you will be travelling with Helios. Otherwise you won't.

You can read far too much into accident statistics for your own good. It stands to reason that the most popular type of plane, a Boeing 737, will have been involved in more accidents than other types. The plane with the worst overall safety record when comparing fatal accidents against flights was Concorde.
