I doubt it anyone will really know this but im going on holiday to paphos flying from luton on the 9th july for 14 nights with First Choice. Now we are just wondering what plane we could go on as we have heard rumours about going on a helios plane and we dont want to go on one of those as last year while we were in paphos we heard the 2 helios planes had crashed during our 2 week holiday. So if anyone knows how to find out what plane we could be going on it would be deeply appicated!!

Thanks xx

firstly, helios only had one crash, one too many of course, but if you have booked with first choice you will fly on one of their own planes, they do not use helios, they have their own fleet of aircraft

thank god 4 that lol

thanks alot x

where are you staying in paphos, have you been before,we have a apartment there its very nice place
As Norman says if you booked with first choice you fly with them, and they are fine as you know.
There's no particular reason to worry about Helios flights. Although last year's crash of flight 522 attracted a great deal of attention from the media, they've still got a good safety record. (Even if you fly with an airline with a poor safety reputation, you're still thousands of times more likely to die on the way to the airport than in a plane crash).

First Choice usually use chartered aircraft for their holidays. It's still possible , however, that they might also make use of the Helios scheduled flights from Luton to Paphos. If your outward flight is numbered ZU411 at 0955 (with a return, a fortnight later, on ZU410 at 1745) then you will be travelling with Helios. Otherwise you won't.

first choice do not use other airlines, they bought air 2000 so they could use their own planes,i expect you are flying out on sunday pm at about 3 ish a flight i use a lot,and its definately fca, first choice airways.
plus helios only fly to paphos on tuesday and thursday out of luton

hey i work in travel, you should be flying with firstchoice own aircraft just ring them direct and they will advise you what your on, have a fab holiday!

answer to normanthedogs queary is that we are staying at the mayfair which i hope is very nice and this will be our 9th time going to paphos but our 1st time at the mayfair hotel
You can read far too much into accident statistics for your own good. It stands to reason that the most popular type of plane, a Boeing 737, will have been involved in more accidents than other types. The plane with the worst overall safety record when comparing fatal accidents against flights was Concorde.
There is no safer way of travelling than by air, so stop worrying and look forward to enjoying your holiday.
you will like the mayfair, its quite nice and funnily enough only about 500 yds from our flat,do you go down to bar street for a beer in the evening,if so have you been in ACES BAR,my old mate spyros owns it,9 times you do like it there same as us,have a good trip,im going wed 26th for 4 days.
