Perverting The Course Of Justice
I was wondering if someone could advise me with regards to an issue involving my best friend. Story goes that she was living at home with her dad and crazy older sister. The sister has always been jealous of her and when she moved out to be with her new partner 50 miles away the sister was not happy. It turns out that she reported my mate to the police stating that my friend had stole her wages over a 7 year period. My friend had allowed her to use her bank account to get her wages paid through it as she did not have a bank card at that time. She said my friend gave her the wages each week but she knew nothing about the money going into her account. When questioned by police my mate said that they showed her a compliment slip stating that the money was going into her account, nothing else, no signed document, just a piece of paper with the payroll clerk stating the money was going through the account.
Anyway, my friend then discovered that her sister had taken out some loans with a well know doorstep lender. She decided to take to the police to show the police the forged signatures and also on one of the loan agreements my mate's sister actually forgot and signed her own name on it. The agent for the company that issued the money was questioned and she lied to cover herself by stating that she gave my mate the money. the police then brought my mate in for further questioning with regards to Perverting the Course of Justice. Needless to say she is worried out of her mind! The file has been sent to the CPS for a decision and that was nearly a year ago. She is very worried that she will have to go to prison for a crime that she didn't do. She asked her solicitor at the time about this and he said it would be a good idea to go to the police but she is regretting it.
Any advice? it is much appreciated

She was involved in a car accident around the time that these loans were taken out and she lived 50 miles away so she could not travel to the sister's house to sign them. She can back this up with medical evidence. I am very worried about her she is under a lot of strain. She lost a child due to this. People can be very nasty but family doing this is unbelievable. Thank you
well the good thing to read is that your fren' is lawyered up
I am not sure if going back to the lawyer ( at this time ) is a good idea as it will cost... and if they (CPS) are thinking about it for a year then just wait.
See other threads - the solicitor is not able to affect whether charging will take place - as the CPS uses a two stage test and that is... blah blah blah see the other threads.....
I suppose the lesson is ( for readers ) when you are handing someone else's money make sure you keep good records...
