Farage Will Not Win Seat Says Poll
// Mr Farage is one point behind the Tories in South Thanet, and just one point ahead of Labour, according to a ComRes poll commissioned by Aaron Banks, the Ukip donor. It suggests Ukip has shed nine points in a month, with Labour gaining ten and the Conservatives gaining four.
Mr Farage has pledged to step down as leader if fails to win a seat. //
Can the party survive without him? Who should replace him?

retro...you and I have different political views, of that there can be no doubt !
But when someone descends into personal abuse, its my opinion that any argument is lost. Your post at 20:51 went too far. DTC noticed it before me, as I was busy elsewhere. What on earth can my little dog have to do with all of this, or my Lidl shopping habits !
I am a firm believer that its always a mistake to go to bed on an argument.
I am happy to accept that sometimes I am strident in my views, although I am not sure if I have ever used any biographical details in order to respond to you, or anybody else. Indeed, I know nothing about you whatsoever, other than you are a retired Police Officer !
When I use the word daft, it is the viewpoint not the poster that I am criticising, but perhaps I have been guilty in not making this clearer in the past. After all, if we were all afraid of being flamed because we disagreed with other posters, none of us would debate any issues at all !
I am also happy to withdraw the term Troll, which now I don't think you deserve. Please accept my apology on that front. There are Trolls on here, to be sure, and some of them have been busy tonight, but I don't think you count in their number, nor would you I imagine you wish to be included in that number either !
I am not sure if we have met exactly in the middle here but have we reached a point that we can both agree to retire on ?

"Lets continue to debate on further posts in a civilised and gentlemanly manner "
I am more than happy to keep my side of the bargain Retro, as long as you do the same.
Lets agree to debate issues and not personalities....its makes sense in the long run, even "common sense " !
Willy sends his regards by the way !

I came back to tell Mikey that if Calvados is right, and is indeed the voice of common sense, then the former Labour faithful of Heywood & Middleton wouldn’t agree with him either. However, since the discussion has descended into the puerility of petulantly lip trembling complaints of personal abuse, citing school rules, and threatening to tell the teacher, I don’t think I’ll bother. Grown people! Unbelievable!
Naomi...you are now being tiresome. I acknowlege nothing of the sort. I was merely agreeing with your last comment....... "I don’t think I’ll bother"
Keep "not bothering" Naomi if you like but I have nothing more to say on the subject. I am sure that someone will stay up, dancing around the Mulberry Bush with you, but it won't be me !
