It might look superficially nice, but you have to remember that it is full of Yorkshiremen, who are nature's ultimate laxitive. They are like scotsmen with all the generosity squeezed out of them and think that they have a wonderful sense of humour but actually are about as funny as a 1960's shopping precinct. For some weird reason they also think that they are wonderful and will not waste any time telling you so.

What makes Yorkshire lovely, elstow, are the very reasons that you enumerate. I was once, in a German pub that was supposed to look like an English pub, asked if it did, in fact, look like an English pub. I answered 'no', and why? I hear you ask. 'Because it's not full of English people.' And so it is with Yorkshire. It does[i look nice, and it [i]is] nice, because it is full of Yorkshiremen! That's what makes Yorkshire lovely, even when the weather is less than nice, which isn't very often. Don't forget, folks: you can always tell a Yorkshireman, but you can't tell him much!
