Barsel: To check what version of Windows Vista you're using, do the following:
Right click on 'Computer' (icon on the desktop) and left click on 'Properties'. This will bring up a window which will list the basic information about your computer and the operating system. At the very top it will say 'Windows addition *' then it will say what 'service pack' is installed and whether it's a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System.
* This will either read 'Home Basic', 'Home Premium', 'Business', 'Enterprise' or 'Ultimate'.
Just thought you'd like to know how to find the information out in order for Methyl to offer some advice.
Good luck :) x

Windows Vista Home Premium,Service pack 2, 32bit operating system.
No idea what any of this means but I am going to go through the 'cleaning the printhead' option again and if it still isn't good enough, I'm going to go and get the Canon printer that Chris suggested, only in Black :-) x
