For some reason my toolbar, that is normally horizontal, has decided to go vertical. I have tried dragging it back but it didn't work. What is the simplest way of resolving this and how can I stop it happening again? Thank you.

It is simply a case of dragging it back but it's a bit tricky sometimes. left-click on somewhere on the taskbar (but not on an open item in the task bar) and HOLD - then move to horizontal postion (centre bottom is best) then release

Thanks for your help Darth. I have been trying to do that as it is what has corrected it in the past, but I can only drag it to the right, (and only as far as halfway across screen) not down!. It just doesn't want to know!
I've had this problem in the past. I don't know how it got there but I tried what Darth suggested (not knowing it was the right thing to do though) and it was difficult. I think you'll just have to keep trying.
