Hi, just had a phone call from plusnet offering me unlimited broadband for £12.49, I usually pay £14.49 for 10GB, my broadband speed is 5.81 download and 1.1 upload which to me is slow, none of our tvs are connected to broadband if I accepted the offer how easy is it to connect up, the tv is downstairs and the computer is upstairs with only a dIY telephone cable connected to my thompson ethernet not wi-fi, what would I have to do to connect it or should I go with BT. thanks

If your broadband speed is 5.1 you're liable to find watching TV a bit jerky. Unlimited just means no data limit - you won't have an increase in speed unless you go fibre.
How far are you from your local exchange?
When did you last speak to your ISP regarding your current contract?
Who is your current provider?

Plusnet is owned by the BT group as I assume you already know. You won't get any benefit (connection wise) by using BT instead of Plusnet unless you change your connection type. People who have no idea that BT actually own Plusnet will actively use Plusnet instead of BT if they have issues with said telecommunications company.

Hi, current provider plusnet for broadband only BT for phone line, I did it like this because my father paid the telephone bill and I paid for broadband, I am about 2 and half miles from exchange and about 20 feet from telephone green box but we are thinking of connecting the tv up downstairs to watch tv but I am not sure how to do it. I dont usually speak to plusnet unless I have a problem, they rang me with this offer, i dont watch that much tv on my computer but it uses to much of my limit up if I do
Most of these offers are half price for 6 months and then normal price. Are you sure the £12.49 won't double in 6 months' time? They're unlikely to be giving you extra capacity for lower cost.
