Couldn't believe that a contestant on Tipping Point this evening didn't know what the second book of the Old Testament was. Surely you don't have to be religious to know this? What is taught in schools these days?

I guessed it correctly but I wasn't at all certain. I was a child of the sixties when learning was just beginning to move on from enforced bible studies thank goodness. Instead I can make a pineapple upside down cake and I know the square root of 1331. Useful eh?!

I knew because I used to hear my Nan saying Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers. That's because even at 70 she could list all the books of the OT in order as she had to learn them at school. I didn't.

they werent - they were evangelists ( xc poss Jn )

We were taught about the books of the bible at sunday school. I was awarded a lovely bible with coloured pictures when I was 10 - still have it.

I think there are many on here who know the complete casts of Corrie and Eastenders and all the storylines. Now these are meaningless tosh.

More importantly does buying 5 mins of light from an electric 'candle' in a catholic shrine get you to heaven quicker than the same amount of money spent on a wax (petrochemical instead of tallow) candle. Ignore the possibility that electrocution might be quicker than accidental self immolation.
