I always found Savile to be creepy, even when I was a young boy, so I was not the slightest bit surprised when the truth came out. But Rolf Harris was entirely different, as he was an important part of my childhood. I am still shocked by his crimes, although I have very little doubt about his guilt.
Lets see what comes out about this latest case. The Police will have difficulty in their investigation, if the "establishment" interfere, as has happened before.

As far as I’m aware in this country the accused is deemed innocent until proven guilty. However, in every single case of alleged sexual abuse discussed on these pages the same people appear to automatically assume guilt. Had this lady not involved the police quite so graphically in her allegations I would be less inclined to doubt her story – or at the very least that aspect of her story - but we shall see.

Just as the same people cry 'She is on the bandwagon and she's after money'
Like I said earlier, it isn't up to me, Khandro or mikey to decide.

Talbo - it is worse on this thread than usual
I conclude the "usual suspects" have had practice - take up their usual positions and just let rip....
The claimamt as usual has to prove his or her case - and the DPP has recently unleashed a lot more " she said he did and he said he didnt" cases on the courts. She has said ( alison saunders that is, yeah the same one that said Janner was too mad to stand trial ) that the jury should decide in these cases whereas previously they were deemed non-starters
I suffer from recall-bias - having been a supporter in a sex case where the lucky fellow was acquitted in eight minutes.
and you dont think, I can confirm: " aaah british justice at its best !"
instead you think: " this really is a colossal foreseen waste of money "

Talbot; //Have you read that, Khandro? ...or//
She said there were police (plural) a lord and judge all on Cannock Chase with a camera filming the event - is that likely? I can't imagine any of those protagonists allowing a film to be made of these alleged assaults, can you?
Also, as I've asked earlier, how did she know one was a lord and another a judge?

I have to say that I regret my remarks on Tues 26th, I've slapped myself on the wrist for being so blase about it all. The victim's memory of the events sounded so incredible, and I was still a little sceptical about this. What made me think again about this was today's Yorkshire Evening Post (29th) front page report that two adopted girls have been being physically and sexually abused by the Father and Son over a period of 10 years. The mother was also accused of cruelty towards the girls. The parents and the son have now been found guilty and jailed for a total of 29 years. It doesn't say how long ago these events took place, but there are so many historical cases like this coming out now that it seems that there is a whole sleazy underworld of this sort of behaviour since the beginning of time. Are we are in danger of becoming immune to these reports? I hope the victims find some sort of peace once justice is served.
This is the story AYG refers to:
