Well, I've joined the Club and tried the Singing Swede. Never again will I peel one again.

Thanks to whoever first brought this up. ;)

So did I but mine didn't sing and left a bit of a sticky mess on the turntable.
Brilliant isn't it......I put a square of kitchen roll underneath.....no mess....☺
Unless we are talking about a member of Abba wielding a potato peeler, can someone tell me what this is about?
I will now Gness, after scrubbing the glass I hadn't saved much time.
I had to soak the glass for ages first time, Ubasses.....still get a little splatter with the paper but not much and not sticky....x
They take longer than you think they will though. I did mine for about thirty minutes in all. It was lovely though.

Some kind person told me about the paper towel trick. No messy glass in my microwave. Thanks, gness. x
Ah...many thanks Mamya x

I'll be putting a paper towel in next time, but to be fair, washing up a glass plate is a small price to pay for not having to peel the swede.
Following on from this thread if I may - I wondered whether butter nut squash could be done in a similar way? I peeled one the other day and was exhausted. I usually buy them already prepared (yes I'm very lazy!).
Question Author
I'd give it a whirl, but maybe reduce the time a bit as the flesh in a squash is softer than a swede.
