Religions in the Bible

Hi...a quick question. I was once told by a preacher (born again christian) that there were no religions in the Bible (King James) Is this true? I said about the Jew's and he said they are a people not a religion. If he was wrong and there are, can i have chapter and verse for them so i could see.

is it totally PANTS to be back at work after the holiday break??

Hi..thanks to you all.....i put what Clanad said (about Baal and Ashteroth) to the preacher and he couldn't give an answer...i think he was a bit upset coz he knew he was mistaken but wouldn't bring himself to admit to his mistake.
