We moved from Lydgate in Lancashire to Rothwell in Yorkshire (about 40 miles) and took our cat with us. After a couple of days she disappeared and we had no idea what had happened to her. A few weeks later our neighbour in Lydgate phoned to say the cat had turned up in a sorry state and they had taken her in. My mother asked them to keep her which they did.

I was always a dog lover and owner and I thought that cats were evil. Then I was adopted by an old stray tom cat. I now find them to be really fascinating animals (as well as being evil, sadistic, demanding etc etc).
