ok, bear with me, as this old lady is considering what you have asked, well, i have a mouse plugged into the side of this computer which i operate with clicks, i cannot use the pure finger control at the bottom, underneath the keyboard because of problems with my old fin gers, does that make sense?
I do not apreciate your joke. this to me was a serious question, i do not understand much about the computor, just grateful i still have the old brains to work it,......again, why does the cursor move around the screen with no instructions from me.....joke with somebody younger....you hurt me a lot.
Is there a second cursor control, mouse or pad maybe that may be being nudged ? I think that may be what you mean by "pure finger control" if not switched off those things can be accidentally touched.
thank you at last for sensible answers, ....i dont know how to go about cleaning a mouse, but i will find out....sorry to be a nuisance, i doubt i will use this site very often, if people make fun of old people who are trying their hardest to keep up with technology, and need advice.
i have a laptop, with a mouse plugged into the side. the finger controls...i have never touched the whole time i have had this computor. they are at the bottom of the keyboard....i cannot work them. so thank you for answering, now i can see that some people take me seriously, i will come back, but for now, thanks to all with the sensible answers.
The pads are easily touched accidentally whilst using the keyboard. Siting them under the keyboard is, in my opinion, a design flaw. Ensure the pad is disabled before doing anything more dramatic.
you need to turn the touchpad off if you are using a plug in mouse, as the touchpad can be very sensitive. If you are not used to computers, this can be a bit tricky - but can be done in the control panel/settings. I'm sure someone can walk you through if needs be
Not to worry Yellowfox, I too am a "silver surfer" and hesitate to ask questions regarding technology. And yes my cursor or little arrow as I call it also has a life of it's own, and I have never used a mouse. Ah well plod on regardless !
