I was talking about items that had been discarded as rubbish, which is not theft as Beunchico's link says. Charity shops sells off unsold clothes and other items in bulk , that is what their skips are for not for rubbish.
There is a house clearance company just up the road from me , the owner has told me I can take anything that he has put in the skip as it costs him money to get rid of it. Had 2 oil paintings and a vintage electric clock last year all sold on eBay. The clock went to Australia fo £28 !
