If the current leader wins, he won't get any monetary prize because he's an amateur.

The £5.25 million prize fund is allocated between the professionals who make the 'cut' (those who miss the cut and go home after the first 2 rounds receive nothing for their efforts).

The leading amateur receives a silver medal, as long as he makes the 'cut', otherwise it is not allocated.

Should Paul Dunne win, I believe that he will only get the silver medal, although I think that he should get the Claret Jug as the leading golfer, with the leading professional receiving the trophy and the first place cheque for £1.15 million. Something was said towards the end of the day's transmission on BBC, but I was only half listening and therefore did not take it in !

I would love to go with entry at only £10, but living in Kent makes it too far to travel for the day !!
