All footballers go where they can get the best deal.
Football is not the most popular sport in Ireland by a long way. McClean like hundreds of others from different countries plies his trade in England.
Mercenary? Yes, I think so.
I have not a clue if he loves England's pounds more than his country.
But, this I do know. An English club went out of their way to sign him as a footballer. No one twisted their arm to do so.
It is a lot of fuss over very little.
Possibly it will give Her Majesty a wee break from criticism, for a Nazi salute she did as a very young girl!
And tomorrow the angry mob will target someone else.
The game was played in Charleston Battery USA, it was most likely that it was them that organised the flags.
