While eating out at a restaurant with a friend!! I ordered a starter. She lost the rag and said I was being extremely rude in eating a starter when she was not having one. Was I being rude. She left the table for 15 minutes went sat in the loo until I was finished.

If she had arrived at my home unexpectedly, it would have been rude to eat in front of her, unless I offered to share my meal.

Do I apologise?

Thanks to any replies.

I would say that her behaviour was very rude. No do't appologise, I would keep this friend at arms length she seems a bit unhinged.

From your post is sounds like your friend has a strange idea of what is rude. she seems to have it exactly the wrong way around. Does she like to be in control ?
Not the sort of friend I`d want
no way apologise ,i wouldn't go out with her again x
How odd unless there is something you/we don't know. After her hissy fit/toilet break did she return to the table and stay for the rest of the meal? Did she mention it again after, was she sulking/upset or did the rest of the meal go well?
Invite her out again then have a starter & when it is desert time say to her '' I'm not having desert, I assume you don't want desert so I'll call for the bill''.
