A home-visiting optician referred a dementia patient to the cataract clinic and managed to convince them to buy just one pair of glasses for almost £500 at the same time!. Be aware.
Shocking, awful, exploitative and should be taken up by trading standards if not the police.
Home visit opticians are round here....phrasing this tenderly ..... a community-specific enterprise.....often a husband and wife team where the missus gains the trust.
It's a big national company. Patient is "delighted with glasses and can see fine with them". They're still the current ones, new ones haven't come yet, despite taking 100% deposit.
I had a home test from an optician as I am disabled . No pressure was applied, and I was made aware that there was no obligation to buy. There was a link to a national group of opticians .I am full of praise for the service given
