There was a media feeding frenzy last week about this. And quite a lot of chat on here. Now it looks as though it may well have been a 20 year old story.

It answers the question as to why any credible newspaper would serve us something like this, and why we gobble it up.
Why the hell wasn't this picked up?
20 years or 20 minutes makes a big difference.
If a national newspaper ran a front page story on a massive fire in Kings Cross station, which happened to be the story from 1987, that would be a scandal, would it not?
