Mmmmm, I have just the one tattoo, an intricate Regimental one on my right bicep. It was drawn by a Gerkha soldier in 1994. That means I have had 11 years to regret it. I hate it. I would like to think I hold a modicum of dignity and class about my person, yet this monstrosity make me look like somebody who holidays in Blackpool and has a girfriend called Tracey.
I have been told that it is a good tattoo and very well done. The ink used was a Nepalise style that is not used here. Alas, it is just not me i am afraid. I shalln't bore you with why I had it done in the first place.
My advice would be to think long and hard about it. Granted you want a small, discreet one but remember one day you will be a Grandmother.
And you would like a fairy. Why anybody would want a tattoo of Graham Norton, Elton John or Sean from Corrie is beyond me.
Good Luck.

If you go to a reputable tattoo studio (most reputable ones go by appointment only, as a guide) and have a look through their books of flash, I'm sure you'll find something that you can have adapted to be more individual to yourself! Try www.bmezine.com - there are tattoo galleries there (as well as some very heavy stuff, if it takes your fancy, haha) and separated into subsections e.g flowers, Japanese, faeries, etc.
Oh, and as a final word, take ibuprofen before you go. It'll take the edge off (to me, getting inked feels like um.... hot and scratchy?!) and prevent your skin getting swollen afterwards. And also, for aftercare I highly recommend Lasonil - you can get it from any chemist's, if you ask for it. It's only a couple of quid and you only need to apply it a few times a day during healing.
Ok, I'm shutting up now! ;)
Good luck! Let us know what you decide :D xxx
Thanks malaise. I knew i would get some people saying don't do it but i am still not 100 per cent sure and won't be until i find "IT" I am gonna have a look at the website you suggested but i am quite interested in an earlier suggestion about birthsigns. I could have a Virgo(eldest son) a Libra(little son) and a scorpio to represent my hubby and me.That would be nice and personal. I have thought about birth dates but i would prefer pictures as opposed to just numbers and then it all starts getting larger than i wanted.Thank you to everyone who has took the trouble to answer my question! x
