Photos From Phone To Pc Problem - Windows 10

I'm now on Windows 10, up till now it was good. The first time I connected my phone to the PC it all went smoothly, the PC worked out everything automatically. I must have moved photos this way about 25 times. Today however I'm being told I need to use the photo companion, and to do that I need to set up a Microsoft account. This I don't want to do. Any advice would be gratefully received.

seem's like you have to have an account, or revert back to your old windows. it also appears the win 10 will take all the info off your phone contact's etc
