hi i just got an mp3 player. i am trying to put my album onto it but i dont know how. i have played my album on my computer via media player but when i try to copy them onto the mp3 it says there is no music and thinks its a document!! I know that the mp3 player is working but i dont know how to convert the songs to mp3. please any help is greatly welcomed - i am not very good on computers so i need it explained to me in simple terms!! thanx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Ok so what you need to do first is to go to google.co.uk and type in "shareware mp3 ripper" this should get you a load of hits featuring mp3 rippers. Then down load one and install it on your computer. Get one that is capable of ripping and encoding.
Ripping gets it off of the cd and encoding converts it to MP3.
That is basically it. There are different bit rates for the MP3. The higher the number the better the quality of sound and the bigger the file size. You choose which rate you want to encode the files before your start encoding.
Some rippers will encode automatically!!!!!
When you have the mp3 files on your computer you will then be able to transfer them onto your player easily.
If you are happy with the results you should pay to register the shareware.

Once installed, chose the "DMC Audio CD Input" from the options of the programme (listed in Start > Programs > DBpowerAMP Music Converter >" Insert your CD, wait for the songs to load onto the programme and then just tick the tracks you want saved as mp3s.

A note, my new mp3 song files were saved in drive C under an automatically created folder called "Coverted Music".
