When I composed a msg on a blank doc and Saved it always automatically used to default to Documents. Now it wants to Save in Downloads and sometimes elsewhere. How do I get docs to Save in Documents?

Instead of Save use Save as... This will give you an option to name the document and where to save it.

Jackdaw. I know I can do that but formerly i didn't have to search for a Folder as Documents was exhibited every time, but I guess I shall have to do the extra keystrokes in future.

You can set a default save directory for Word documents within Word itself.

How to do it varies between Word versions so just search the various Word menus and options.
