The Archers
Well its getting to the stage where I cannot wait for the next episode - its Helen and her creepy husband's storyline that has me hooked

That explains a lot. I thought it has improved in the last few weeks, so hopefully we aren't going to have to suffer Eastenders type stories.

Oh dear, 'Pet Love' is listed in the Radio Times cast list for The Archers next Friday (2nd Oct). Her voice makes me squirm. I agree about Rob, and is Helen keeping him at a distance? Whatever he did to her on 'that night' seems to have certainly changed her attitude to him. We can only hope he gets his just desserts!
mikey, Mrs. BB listened to the play about the demise of Grace Archer, and she said that it was very enlightening. It explained that Godfrey Baseley (programme's producer) took against the actress who played Grace, because she wanted more money. GB was having none of it, so he got rid of the offending actress by killing off her character.
I don't like the idea of these 'romantic evenings' which Rob has so caringly proposed - lots of chances to get her pregnant (and also gently reprimand her for being squiffy - becoming not such gentle reprimands). On the other hand, the scriptwriters have led us by the nose about Rob before (paternity issue) and all sorts of reactions by Helen could be accounted for by pregnancy. Jill is struggling, isn't she?
Mikey, less of the insinuation that anyone who has followed The Archers from day one is old, please!!!! I remember Dick Barton which was on before The Archers started.
I wondered about Helen too, jourdain, and Pat kept saying how wonderful he is.
She certainly seems to be keeping him at a bit of a distance. We must all be patient..........

I may start biting my nails again! It will probably all come to a head at, or very shortly before Christmas. I bet that's the first time he physically attacks he, we're booked to sing carols at so many care homes in the area that I may miss it! (Sorry, if you don't know, OH and I are in a village singing group.) If she's preggers, he could belt her in the tummy - I know of someone who did that.
I record each episode on Freeview, jourdain, if that's any help - can't have you missing any critical episodes! We seem to be getting like the people who watch the soaps, the ones who believe it to be real! I don't think anything has gripped me so much as this storyline for a long time, if ever. I hope it doesn't all fall flat. We haven't heard any more from Charlie about the blocked culvert, perhaps that will crop up again. Such excitement.
