CD Drive problems

I have just put a new CD/DVDRW drive into my computer and it will now not read any form of CD. DVD work fine as do DVD-R. I get no response from normal audio cds or recordable CDS, it will just not...

Surely the Mac is better, it comes in so many colours and designs. I can not see why PCs are so popular when both Macs and Laptops are so much better?
