Panasonic STB frozen

I have TU CT30 which has frozen on a channel when I turn it on. The remote becomes ineffective and won't even turn it off. I've tried disconnecting the live lead but has no effect. Any ideas please....

Copper gas pipe.

I'm having a gas copper pipe fitted from a new meter to my first floor flat. My only concern is if someone steals the pipe and the gas escapes. Is there anything that can be done to lessen this risk....
