Rav4 starting problems

i am experiencing a problem when trying to start my RAV4. I appear to be getting a RATTLING noise when selecting start

starting problem on a 1993 Rav4 import

when trying to start from cold I appear to be getting a "rattling" sound from the engine and nothing is happening
